Geriatrics is the care of older adults, and is recognized as a specialty. It is important to appreciate that geriatrics is concerned with the whole person: physically, mentally, functionally and socially. Applying preventative health practices, managing diseases, realizing biological changes, and understanding attitudes and beliefs of older adults are paramount for comprehensive care. Older adults benefit from individualized care as well as using appropriate resources to promote quality of life.

Over the years, Jennifer has delivered lectures at Nursing, Paramedic/Emergency Medical Services, and Geriatric Symposiums. Topics have included: Delirium in the Older Adult, Recognizing Dementia, and Spiritual Assessment as an Intervention for the Older Adult.

On a personal note, Jennifer enjoys raising her 2 teenage daughters, and has a yellow lab named Maggie. Her interests include cycling, running, reading, and performing home improvements.
